It may be considered a large scale project but painting your own home with colours of your choice makes for a fun and creative home improvement project. Whether you are working individually or with the help of family and friends, the most important thing is to have fun. Doing it yourself will save you hundreds of dollars, and in the process, gives you a reason to let loose and get creative.

1. Even small acts like adding life plants and flowers to your living space will certainly add a sprig of fresh air and some gentle on the eyes, colours to your life. With the touch of Mother Nature’s works of art in your home, you are in for many uplifting days.

2. Every home needs good lighting. Everything from the colours on your walls to the furniture you use, depend on proper lighting. Investing some new lights to add a new spark to your abode wouldn’t hurt. Add some candles to cosy up the rooms and keep you relaxed and at ease.

3. Curtains are a great way to complete the look you choose for the rooms in your home. And, if you want to sleep in during the weekends, they shield your eyes from the sun’s bright, sunny rays of light. Anything from light sheer fabrics to thick embroidery works, whichever suits the theme of your room best!

4. If you wish to go for something a little less strenuous than painting, wallpapers are what you need. Not only do they come in gorgeous classic designs but they are not all that difficult to put up on walls. Although they don’t last as long as paint, they are meant to add a more decorative touch to your walls.

5. It’s no wonder that carpets are often associated with magic. Traditional carpets from the Middle East give off a mystical, magical vibe while the more modern ones with animal prints or other contemporary designs make your living space more urban and chic looking. Contrasting carpet colours with furniture will further heighten the chic look in your home.

6. Mirrors are a great way to widen your living area especially if your home is small in area. Interior design stores now sell mirrors of different shapes and sizes meant specifically for decorative use. Get one and put it up where you feel the area is the smallest and observe. You will surely feel the horizons expanding!

7. Storage cabinets are a great way to organize your clutter. Not only does clutter mess up your home but it denies you, your living space as well. D-I-Y cabinets come with ample instructions and are reasonably easy to put together. Put some together today and store your clutter away.

8. Make some changes to your bathroom accessories. Get rid of the old and bring out the new. Change the mirror, add a brightly coloured rug. Try anything to spruce up the condition of your bathroom.

9. Glorify your personal living space with Art Decor that best suits your personality. Hang paintings on the wall or place antiques out on display. Things that stand out and make your personality shine through, from all the other things in the room.
