1. The most expensive wedding cake (Worth $1.3 million):
First revealed at the Dallas Bridal Show, this extraordinary creation tips the scales at 160 pounds (76kg!) and dazzles with sapphires and an astounding 1,200 carats of diamonds! 2. The most expensive wedding bouquet (Worth $125,000):
Aptly named “Thien hoa bach ngoc” or “thousands of flowers, hundreds of gemstones”, this special bouquet was created in a collaboration between DOJI Gems & Trade JSC and LyLy Flower Supermarket, in Hanoi. Roses, lilies, orchids, moonflowers (all white!) and the root of a 100-year-old ficus were used in this bouquet. But wait! There’s more! 90 two-carat red ruby facets, nine one-carat diamonds and a 21.6-carat star ruby all helped bring out the magnificence in the bouquet – symbolising a century of happiness for the couple. Unfortunately, it is not for sale or rent. So if you are keen to treat yourself to something similar, work with your florists and jewellers to adapt a personalised version of this luxurious bridal bouquet!
3. The most expensive celebrity diamond engagement ring (Worth $4.7 million):
An engagement ring fit for a heiress! Yes, we are referring to the engagement ring Paris Latsis presented to Paris Hilton in 2005. Weighing in at a staggering 24-carats, the diamond ring set Latsis back a cool $4.7 million dollars. It was so huge and heavy that Hilton complained that it was just too cumbersome. After the end of their relationship, the ring was later auctioned off with the proceeds going to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
